(Business in Cameroon) - Wood salvage operations on the construction site of the Mekin dam, in the southern region of Cameroon, have already enabled the removal of 26,850 hectares of resources, we learned from sources close to the project.

In total, 7,850 hectares of wood have been removed from the flooded area upriver of the dam plant, against 19,000 hectares removed from the area secured for this energy infrastructure.

The removal of wood from major project sites in Cameroon, particularly energy projects, are part of the government measures whose goal is to benefit from these resources before their destruction, due to the flooding of the sites.
