(Business in Cameroon) - The National Employment Fund (FNE) has just concluded, in partnership with the UN High-Commissioner for Refugees (HCR), a training for 45 refugees living in Yaoundé on job seeking and self-employment methods. “This training is therefore meant to provide the refugees with techniques on writing cover letters and curriculum vitae, knowledge of the job market, on creating income-generating activities, fund-raising etc. to enable them become more competitive on the job and self-employment market in Cameroon”, the UN organisation specified. According to Khassim Diagne, HCR representative, this training initiative “is again proof of the exceptional solidarity of the Cameroonian government with refugees”.

In Cameroon, HCR works with the government to ensure protection and assistance to about 350,000 refugees and asylum seekers, who for the most part live in the Eastern, Adamaoua and Extreme-North regions. Its interventions also target over 190,000 internally displaced, as well as an important number of hosting communities.
