(Business in Cameroon) - Cameroonian subsidiary of French group Total just launched a challenge named “Startupper of the Year” 2016. Launched in the 34 African countries where the group operates, this competition aims to “identify, award and support the best projects for the establishment or development of less than two years old businesses”. The age limit for candidates is 35 years.

During the press conference organized for the launching of the competition, Total Cameroon’s new Director General, Imrane Barry said: ”The awarded projects are to receive from Total Cameroon, the 2016 Startupper label, financial support, support from professional partners and an advertising campaign to promote their services or product”.

In Cameroon, the 2016 “Startupper of the Year” is sponsored by André Siaka. President of Cameroon’s Employers organization for 12 years, André Siaka who was vice-president and interim president of the Ecobank group, headed Brasseries du Cameroon, Castel’s subsidiary, for 25 years.
