(Business in Cameroon) - The Caisse nationale de prévoyance sociale (CNPS - National Social Security Fund), secular branch of social security for private, public and parapublic sector workers in Cameroon, recently awarded "exemplarity certificates" to companies, who distinguish themselves through the timely and regular payment of social security contributions for their employees.

Among these companies, are Camrail, the Cameroonian railway company who has registered 4,522 employees since 1999; the car dealer Cami Toyota, and the horse racing betting company Pari mutuel urbain camerounais (PMUC). Also present on the list are decentralised local authorities such as Tiko and Kumba.

In 2014, a list of 40 companies who together have amassed several billions in unpaid social security contributions was created. Among these companies were some giants of the Cameroonian economy.
