Cameroon: South Korea contributes CFA3 billion to E-procurement project

(Business in Cameroon) - On January 16, 2018, Abba Sadou, minister of public procurement indicates that South Korea will support E-procurement financially.

South Korea which helps Cameroon financially was waiting for the initiative to be consecrated by law before providing the CFA3 billion needed for the second phase”, the minister explained. The official that this second phase is more complex than the first phase, which consisted in the setting of a legal framework. Indeed this phase assesses the offers digitally. Same for technical grading conducts the technical and financial evaluation and produces the final ranking.  

According to the PM’s decree signed by Philemon Yang, the prime minister, on January 5, 2018, the process for public procurement will take place via a platform called Cameroon Online E-procurement System. Abba Sadou thus urged the various actors concerned (project promoters, procurement commissioned) to appropriate this new technology.
