(Business in Cameroon) - Désiré Abogo Ntang, managing director of Matgenie, the Civil Engineering Equipment National Park (Matgénie) revealed that maintenance costs for roads in Cameroon’s municipalities will decrease by 30% thanks to the Sacir, which is a scheme to support municipalities in their road maintenance initiatives. The Sacir is the result of a partnership between Matgénie and about fifty Cameroonian municipalities.

Matgénie, a public company previously specialized in machinery rentals which extended its expertise to construction works, is trying to break through with the Sacir, into a highly competitive market.

Sacir enables Cameroon's municipalities to entrust their road maintenance tasks to Matgénie, which can also rent its machinery to service providers hired by the communities. This with the participation of mobile teams that the public company will set up for this purpose.
