(Business in Cameroon) - The works for the construction of the western Douala access road, which will ease up the traffic off the Wouri bridge, when leaving the Cameroonian economic capital for the Western South-Western and North-Western regions, will be completed by January 2018, a month after the commissioning of the 2nd bridge over the Wouri river, we learned from official sources.

With an initial cost of FCfa 42 billion, finally increased to FCfa 51 billion due to adjustments made on the initial project, this road is constructed by the company Sogea-Satom.

Initially scheduled for July 2017, the completion of the construction of this road was delayed, we learned, by challenges related to the release of rights-of-way, themselves due to the late payment of compensations.
