(Business in Cameroon) - After the recent and brief interruption of circulation between the Cameroonian cities of Bafoussam (West region) and Bamenda (North-West region), following the deterioration of the road in Babadjou, the government has announced the imminent start of urgent work on the road way. The total cost is 2 billion FCFA.

The work will be carried out by three local businesses, pending the raising of the close to 145 billion FCFA required for the complete redoing of the 370 km long road way. Technical and related studies should be available in September, according to reliable sources.

According to Public Works Ministry heads, work on the road could start in the first quarter of 2016, thanks to financing to be raised from financial partners such as Banque africaine de développement (BAD).
