(Business in Cameroon) - On the fringes of his State visit in Italy which started on 20 March, the Cameroonian Head of State, Paul Biya, is chairing today 22 March 2017 in the Italian capital, an economic forum gathering Cameroonian and Italian economic operators. With the objective of establishing business partnerships.

We have identified sectors in which Italian companies, whose experience is well known, could invest. We particularly think about the logging, skin and leather, marble and agribusiness sectors”, the Cameroonian Head of State had already indicated when responding to the toast of his Italian counterpart. This was during the State dinner offered on 20 March at the presidential palace by Sergio Mattarella.

Anticipating this business forum, President Biya also advertised the characteristics of the economic environment of his country. “The conditions we offer to investors are, I believe, appealing. Our economy is healthy and our debt sustainable. The business climate improves day after day. There is no doubt that by persevering in its current resolution, Italy could become one of our major economic partners”, he highlighted.

The Cameroon-Italy Economic Forum hosted by the city of Rome this 22 March is the 2nd to occur within a month, after the one organised in Yaoundé this past February on the fringes of the 6th edition of the International Enterprise, SME and Partnership Show (Promote 2017).
