China offers Cameroon meteorological equipment worth more than one billion FCfa

(Business in Cameroon) - The Cameroonian Minister of Transport, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o, has just taken delivery of a donation of meteorological equipment worth a little more than one billion francs FCfa, we learn officially. This equipment has been offered by the People's Republic of China.

Destinés à équiper 23 stations météorologiques à travers le pays, ces équipements mis à disposition par le gouvernement chinois viennent renforcer le dispositif local en la matière, déjà constitué de 20 stations automatisées, apprend-on.

Destined to equip 23 meteorological stations across the country, this equipment provided by the Chinese government comes to strengthen the local facility in the field, already made up of 20 computerised stations, we learn.

Cette sollicitude de la Chine contribuera au succès du Programme d’adaptation aux changements climatiques, mis en place par le gouvernement camerounais afin de pouvoir favoriser la production de données utiles sur les variations climatiques.

This support from China will contribute to the success of the Programme of Adaptation to Climatic Change, established by the Cameroonian government in order to promote the production of useful data on climate variations.
