$(Business in Cameroon) - 156 million (a little more than CFA82 billion) is the amount that World Bank will give Cameroon, in 2018, to help it manage the refugees it receives. This was revealed by Elisabeth Huybens, director of World Bank’s operations within CEMAC, during a discussion with the press on February 2, 2018, in Yaoundé. According to her, the major part of this amount is granted as donations.
Since the outbreak of violence perpetrated by the Islamic sect Boko Haram in Nigeria and the political instability in Central Africa, since 2013 with the fall of Bozizé, Cameroon has received more than 350,000 refugees from those two countries because it is a neighboring country.
