(Business in Cameroon) - Emirati company Paluxi Energy and Cameroon’s ministry of Energy and water just signed a partnership agreement to implement in Cameroon a 500 MW wind power generating project, credible sources revealed.

In actual facts, this project involves the construction of various 100 MW wind parks along the coast, namely between Kribi and Douala. The project will be launched in February 2016, says Arsène Bilounga, Managing Director of Paluxi Energy Cameroon.

Funding for the project which cost about 60 billion FCFA will be provided by a pool of international banks. It should be reminded that wind power is still non-existent in Cameroon. The first project remediating to this, a 42 MW generating project, has been unveiled by the Cameroonian government and is to be implemented in Monts Bamboutos (West).
