(Business in Cameroon) - Zhao Yujian, the President of China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP), firm which belongs to the 3PL consortium previously selected by Cameroon’s government to finance and construct a 335km-long pipeline for distributing oil products, ended his three-day visit in Cameroon on 5 November 2015.

According to our sources, Zhao Yujian came not only to affirm CPP’s commitment in this important project but also to speed-up the ongoing negotiations between 3PL consortium and the government of Cameroon.

Overall covering a distance of 335Km, the first section of this pipeline is to extend from Limbé to Douala on 110Km; the second from Douala to Edéa over 70Km whereas the last will link Yaoundé to Edéa (175Km). Once built, the infrastructure is to be exploited by 3PL for 27 years before it is transferred to the State of Cameroon.

The project has been valued to about 218 billion FCFA and is subject to definite evaluation. Both the government and 3PL affirm that the infrastructure should result in decreasing more than 20% the prices of oil products in Cameroon.
