(Business in Cameroon) - The British oil and gas company Bowleven officially announced on 25 November 2015, having successfully completed flow tests on its Moambe well, which recently started delivering its first hydrocarbon flow in the Bomono licence, which the company operates in the Cameroon onshore.

During the tests, the well generated a stabilised gas production at "7.3 million standard cubic feet (mmscf), through a 48/64 ring with a flow wellhead pressure of 664 psi", without any "depletion sign" being observed "during the initial test period".

"We are satisfied with the first positive flow test results on Moambe which increase our confidence in the commercial viability of the future development plans on Bomono" Kevin Hart declared. Bowleven's CEO thus refers to the discussions currently ongoing with Eneo, in order to supply in gas the electric plants managed by this public service agent for electricity.

As a reminder, Bowleven officially announced the discovery of hydrocarbons at Moambe on 28 September 2015. In its report for the year ending 30 June 2015, this oil and gas operator announced that it will submit an application to the Cameroonian authorities by November 2015 for a gas operation licence on its Bomono permit.

This, especially as the current licence, fully owned by Bowleven and covering two blocks of 2,328 km in the Douala bassin, will officially expire on 12 December 2015, following an one-year extension granted by the Cameroonian authorities in December 2014.
