(Business in Cameroon) - Essos Medical Centre (Centre Hospitalier d’Essos - CHE), in Yaoundé, received on 4 May major surgery and laparoscopy equipment from the World Organisation for Specialised Studies on the Diseases of the Oesophagus (OESO) headed by Professor Robert Giuli, Hospital Surgeon in Paris, France.

For the occasion, the Foundation OESO was represented by Medtrocnic, a firm based in the United States. For a value of FCfa 108 million, the material offered will allow CHE to establish itself as a pioneer in generalising laparoscopic surgery. Operations which for the moment are only offered in 2 countries: South Africa and Cameroon. The equipment received is the latest generation in high definition.

CHE, through this donation, is now among the 11,000 members of the OESO network in the world. These members are installed in 85 countries, besides Africa. The equipment received by the Cameroonian hospital further strengthens the option to modernise and upgrade its technical facilities taken by CHE since 2008.
