(Business in Cameroon) - On the instructions of the Head of State, Arthur Zang, architect of the Cameroonian touch tablet for medical use dubbed «Cardiopad», recently received 20 million CFAF from the Prime Minister's Office as part of efforts to support the project.

This amount will enable this young engineer graduated from a top engineering school in the country, to set up a telecardiology centre in Yaoundé.

In Arthur Zang's view, the pilot centre established in the capital will facilitate the full-scale testing of the Cardiopad's operation with several tablets. «After this, funds should be mobilized for the industrial production of the Cardiopad», he said.

The Cardiopad was developed in 2011 to make up for the acute shortage of cardiologists in Cameroon. Made in the form of a touch tablet, it is equipped with an acquisition, processing and transmission system via the Global System Monitoring (Gsm), as well as a Mobile cardio software designed for the occasion.
