Fuel Scarcity Hits Yaounde, Douala

Fuel Scarcity Hits Yaounde, Douala

(Business in Cameroon) - Partial fuel scarcity, notably the “Super” type has hit Yaounde and Douala, obliging car owners to criss-cross the towns in search of filling stations that have the precious gas.

Although no official reason has been given for the scarcity, sources say the problem might have been linked to poor distribution.

Meanwhile, at the National Corporation for Petroleum Depots (SCDP) that deals with storage, security and distribution, everything seems to have normalized. Although all attempts to get the Storage Manager comment on what the problem was; how the distribution is done and the short, medium and long-term strategies put in place to pre-empt future disruptions failed, sources however told us that all was well not only with supply but distribution as well.
