(Business in Cameroon) - Two Cameroonian teams are on the list of 60 finalists from Africa and the Middle East, selected by Facebook for its Bots for Messenger developer challenge, which rewards developers capable of creating the most innovative robots for Messenger, we learned in an official press release.

The Cameroonian teams named Quizzcoin and Cuisto, are respectively in competition in the categories “Gaming and entertainment” and “Social good”. The challenge has a 3rd category: “Productivity and Utility”. Like their competitors, these Cameroonian representatives have until 2 June 2017 to submit their robots and hope to win the ultimate prize.

For each region (Northern Africa and Middle East, then sub-Saharan Africa), indicates Facebook, “the three final teams (one for each category) will win US 10,000 dollars and three months of Facebook mentorship. For each region, the three winning teams (one in each category) will win US 20,000 dollars and three months of Facebook mentorship”.

We however learned that the 60 finalists have already won “a Gear VR and mobile telephone; one hour of Facebook mentorship; tools and services from FbStart, a Facebook programme designed to help young start-ups in the first phase of their development; and a prize of US 2,000”.
