A national tender has been launched for this purpose by the Ministry in charge of Public contracts at the Presidency of the Republic.
According to communiqué signed by Abba Sadou, Minister Delegate at Presidency of the Republic in charge of Public contracts on May 6, 2013 that we got a copy, a national tender for geotechnical studies for the construction of 50 bridges on the national road network has been launched by the Government of Cameroon.
This project, reads the communiqué, covers all ten regions of the country.
For example in the region of Adamawa, a bridge connecting Foumban-Tibati-Ngaoundéré will be built over the Mayo-Nyawa River. In the North, there will be a bridge over the Mayo Sasseke River on Poli-Fignole stretch. In the Far North, another bridge will be built on the Douroum-Ouazzang-Massakal road.
In the East, a bridge is planned over Mbangue River, connecting Yokadouma-Mouloundou (between Ngato and Mikel). As for the Ngato new and Ngato old road, a 24-meter long bridge will be erected over Lobeke River.
In southern Cameroon, several other bridges are planned, indicates the communiqué. Over Mboua River (Mvila and Dja and Lobo divisions) a bridge will rally Olounou Oveng(Gabon border) and others.
As for the Centre Region, Bot Makak - Mandjack-Nguibassal stretch will be connected by a bridge over the Lobeke River.
Funded by MINTP’s (Ministry of Public Works) budget, the communiqué reads that the Littoral Region will see the construction of three bridges over Maouwa, Dihep and Bemele Rivers. Meanwhile in the West Region two bridges are envisaged over Nkam and Mfu rivers.
