Buzzichelli Morocco positions itself in Cameroon

Already present in Senegal and Libya, Buzzichelli Morocco will conduct the study, and will supply the assembly and the commissioning of a cogeneration plant on behalf of Sonara (Cameroon). This is a contract with a value of 500 million dirhams.
This is the first turnkey project won by Buzzichelli Morocco outside the borders of the kingdom. The contract, valued at 500 million dirhams, is part of the company's strategy of becoming a major player in construction in Africa, the Maghreb and in the Middle East. For the group, created in 1983 and which is involved in construction and installation of cement units, in the mining, energy, chemicals and food industry, this contract reflects its new international ambitions. Buzzichelli Morocco notably participated in the construction of two new lines of cement in Senegal and has done various works in the refineries from Zaouia and Benghazi in Libya.
Certified ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health), Buzzichelli Morocco shows a sustained growth since 2005. In Morocco, the group expects 550 million dirhams in 2011. This is a year that began with a backlog of 800 million dirhams, from which half for export. "In Morocco, we are 1500 employees including 25 senior engineers and 40 specialized technicians," says Medhdi Zouhir, CEO of Buzzichelli Morocco. The group has 4,000 square meters of work space with cranes, trucks, aerial lifts, 500 welders and 40 machines. In 2010, Buzzichelli recorded 3.3 million hours of construction. It also has to its credit, the completion of the oil terminal of the Port of Tangier Med, respectively all mechanical and electrical work of the Central Mohamedia.
The market context
In Cameroon, the national refining company (Sonara) makes an investment of 200 million euros for the expansion of its capabilities. To produce steam and energy it has invested in a cogeneration plant of 30 MW. An international tender was launched. The successful bidder, Buzzichelli Morocco, was in competition with the Energy division of the Bouygues group and with the Energy branch of Eiffage group. The work should be performed within 20 months. Specifically, the engineering part will be performed by the Paris office of the group, Buzzichelli International. The Moroccan subsidiary will handle the international purchases.
