(Business in Cameroon) - The Cameroonian government will undertake, in 2016, a vast drilling programme in the three regions of the northern part of the country. In total, over 3,000 wells will be drilled, the Minister of Energy and Water, Basile Atangana Kouna, just announced.
Though home to the Adamaoua, presented as the wettest region in Cameroon, the northern area in its whole is not spared by the difficulties in accessing potable water which the population suffer from.
Indeed, according to official statistics, the rate of access to potable water in Cameroonian urban areas does not reach 50%. This number is even less attractive for rural areas.
