(Business in Cameroon) - The Board of the Agence des Normes et de la Qualité (Anor – Standards and Quality Agency) adopted, on 7 June 2017 at the end of its 7th extraordinary session, a “revised budget for the year 2017” we learned in an official press release. Balanced between revenues and expenditure at FCfa 4.985 billion, this budget has increased by over FCfa 300 million compared to the initial budget.

Indeed, according to Anor’s website, the 15th ordinary meeting of the Board of this public Cameroonian company, which took place on 28 December 2016, resulted in the adoption of a 2017 budget for FCfa 4.623 billion, in decrease by over 20% compared to the previous budget.

This increase in the budget of Afnor comes in a situation marked by the cancellation of the State subsidy, revealed the Chairman of the Board, Bayero Fadil. “The cancellation of State subsidies to Anor is a decision which leads us to think about our financial autonomy. I call on to the Managing Director and his management team to give absolute priority to seeking resources, apart from those already generated by the PECAE (system to check goods prior to loading, Ed.) and the SGS inspection tax”.
