(Business in Cameroon) - For the 2015 summer holidays, Cameroon Railways (Camrail), the national railway company, has launched a special promotional offer called “Promo Jeunes en toute sécurité” or the “Youth Safety Promo”, which reduces prices by 20 to 25% for students or young people aged 10 to 25 years, on all the national railway’s main lines.

According to reliable sources, up to 31st October 2015, students will receive 25% off on 2nd class seats on trains that run daily from the capital, Yaoundé, to Ngaoundéré, located in the northern region of the country.

Meanwhile, ages 10 to 25 years as well as students also get 20% off first class seats on InterCity, the rapid train which does four rotations between the country’s two main cities (Yaoundé and Douala).

The operator of Cameroon’s railway service for the last fifteen years, Camrail officially transported 1.5 million passengers and a little over 1.6 million tonnes of merchandise in 2014 with estimated sales of over 60 billion FCFA and a net result which culminated in four billion FCFA.
