Business Services sufficiently diversified

Business Services

With the influx of investors, services offered to companies became more varied and accessible being in the same time more densely.

Because of the attractiveness of its economy in the early years after its independence, Cameroon has seen the development of foreign and domestic companies in several industries. Unlike other countries in the sub-region, Cameroon is the central African nation which has an embryonic industrial base and a pool of dynamic local entrepreneurs.

Avec toutes les indemnités, un cadre du secteur financier peut recevoir un salaire de 700 000 francs CFA, et un agent de maîtrise environ la moitié.
An executive officer in the financial sector can earn 700,000 FCFA, all of the benefits included, and an accountant about the half of it.

This situation has led to the development, particularly in the economic capital Douala, of an increasingly number of facilities for businesses. These companies are supporting other companies with a large number of management activities (notaries, accountants, external auditors) and the profession of business lawyer, also in full bloom, with specialization in a few large law firms. The fees vary depending on the issue of the transaction or the customer profile.

Accounting requirements
Certification of accounts which give a presumption of sincerity, to the records that has been deleted this year by the Finance Act of 2010 where authorities have reported the recurrence of false accounting. Now the companies file their tax return statistics and year-end tax services without mandatory use of accountants, which represents substantial savings for businesses, particularly the cost of preparing the financial statements.

Transports

Concerning the transport and transit, where several companies for service and support share the market, the obsolescence and failure of conventional postal system has created fertile ground for the emergence of a large number of courier companies and instant money transfer at variable rates but generally cheap. For example, to make cash transactions in remote areas of the country, it suffice to send money through one of the many courier companies that transfer funds; these travel without risk of robbery and the money are recovered at their destination, all this with a reduced fee.

Telecommunications and Web
The boom in telecommunications has greatly reduced the cost of internet access in both urban and rural areas. Computer engineer, Degaule Yemkwa, CEO of KNP Telecom gives the explanation: "In urban areas, the supply of Internet services has increased first with the emergence of wireless local loop, then the arrival of the major players in the area, offering the possibility of internet and mobile at low cost. This dynamic simplification of Internet access throughout the territory should continue with the deployment of the dorsal digital is deploying fiber throughout the territory of Cameroon. For large companies looking for secure connections, there remains the possibility of VSAT connections, which offers many advantages in terms of autonomy."
Many households have already installed internet (modem costs are between 10,000 and 50,000 FCFA and one hour of Internet connection costs 300 FCFA).
As for telephony, there are three companies present on the market with contracts amounting nearly 6 millions subscribers with varied offers adapted to the needs of individuals and businesses.

Security
Although Cameroon is not a country of great insecurity, in the early 1990s appeared a substantial number of protection and security companies, more and more professional and offering specialized services (money transfer, service order, close protection, security, etc.). Some derive from the staff in this sector which has a clean police record over the past two years, and led authorities to tighten the conditions for the exercise of this profession.
