The volume of Containers handled by DIT between 2005-2017 grew by 190%

(Business in Cameroon) - The volume of activities of Douala International Terminal (DIT), the concessionaire of Douala port’s container terminal, has nearly tripled within 12 years.

This has been revealed on January 12, 2018, in Douala by Frederik Klinke, DIT managing director, during a labor and honor medal ceremony when Frederik Klinke awarded 77 of his collaborators.

Indeed, from 131,994 20-foot containers handled on the terminal in 2005, at the start of its concession, the company’s handlings in 2017 was about 386,500 20-foot containers. This represents an increase by more than 190% and, thanks to this, the company makes about CFA55 billion turnover nowadays.

 “Without you, we wouldn’t have reached that levelThese performances are the result of your commitment and determination. I am grateful and compliment you for this. So, the ceremony this morning is the coronation and a formal recognition of your involvement in the evolution of this flagship in the port industry that DIT is”, the managing director said to the entire staff.
