(Business in Cameroon) - The state-owned airlines company, Camair Co, made its inaugural flight on 20 July 2017 to Bamenda, regional capital of the North West, located in the Anglophone part of the country.

For this inaugural flight, Camair Co chartered its two Chinese MA 60s, whose passengers were primarily figures of the Republic such as the Minister of Transport, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o.

According to the MD of Camair Co, Ernest Dikoum, the public airline company will from now on fly to Bamenda with a frequency of 3 flights per week, leaving from Yaoundé and from Douala, at a cost of FCfa 32,840 for the air ticket.

In difficulty since it started operations in 2011, Camair Co, which is presently implementing a recovery plan with the support of Boeing, has had to temporarily suspend most of its international flights to focus on the domestic market.
