(Business in Cameroon) - The company SLK Kribi Towage SA has just been created, with an initial capital of FCfa 10 million. In its purpose, we learn that this company will be in charge of the development and operation of towing and boatage services at the deep water port of Kribi, “as part of a concession contract, whose major shareholder, in partnership with the minority shareholder, was declared the successful tenderer”.

Upon analysis, this company is owned by the Dutch company Smit Lamnalco, to whom the Cameroonian government awarded, in April 2015, the concession contract for towing and boatage services in this port, whose first phase construction was completed several months ago in the southern region of the country.

Practically speaking, SLK Kribi Towage SA will manage the two tugboats christened Roi Madola and Roi Mayesse, built in China and received on 27 April 2014 in Guangzhou by the Cameroonian government. These two vessels with a tugging capacity of 4,000 tons each are meant to assist vessels in difficulty in the deep water Port of Kribi, on one side, and with the mooring at the port’s docks, on the other side.

The managing Director of SLK Kribi Towage SA is Bartels Franck Hendrik. Its board is chaired by Veldam Elzo Jord.
