(Business in Cameroon) - On February 13, 2018, Rougier group chose Francis Rougier as the group’s managing director during a meeting of the management board. This was revealed by the stock news platform boursier.

According to the platform, the new managing director’s role is to implement measures suitable to the difficult context of this group specialized in forest exploitation in Africa. One of its missions is to continue the negotiations in order to sell shares of the Cameroonian subsidiary whose employees are already technically unemployed.

The group whose turnover has decreased by 7.5% in 2017 explains its difficulties in Cameroon by the accumulation of VAT refunds with government and above all, the recurring congestion of Douala port which impacts the Cameroonian, Congolese and Central African subsidiaries’ operation.
