(Business in Cameroon) - With 200,000 direct and indirect jobs created in Cameroon, SABC is the leading private employer in the country. This was revealed by Emmanuel De Tailly, managing director of SABC group, on July 6, 2018, during a medal awarding ceremony organized in the Southwest to reward its employees.

During the ceremony, Emmanuel De Tailly indicated that for 70 years now, SABC group has been valorizing the expertise of Cameroonians in every domain by putting in place an industrial value chain to improve competitiveness and develop entrepreneurship. Thanks to this value chain, the company has become the country’s largest private employer. For instance, it has created jobs for more workers than the public agribusiness company, Cameroon Development Corporation (CDC), which employs 22,000 workers, considered as Cameroon’s second largest employer after the government.

According to the managing director, SABC is also the leading corporate citizen in Cameroon. By the way, the company was awarded in that regard by customs directorate in 2017. At the time, the Directorate informed that SABC paid CFA25.954 billion as customs duties that year. The customs directorate also praised SABC’s integrity because 90% of its imports are not disputed by the authority.
