Cocoa : Prices stay above XAF1,010 for 20 days in a row in Cameroon

(Business in Cameroon) - Since August 22, 2019, the minimum price for a kilogram of cocoa was XAF1,010 and a maximum of XAF1,040, according to daily pointers by Système d’information de filières (SIF), a system that provides updated information about the coffee and cocoa sectors.

Usually, during the rainy season, cocoa prices are low because during that season, it is hard to access production basins. But, this year, the rainy season had no impact on prices. This is due to growing demand spurred by an increase in local processing capacities.
