(Business in Cameroon) - During the last restructuration of its subsidiaries, United Bank of Africa (UBA) appointed many Cameroonians.

According to internal sources, 5 Cameroonians were appointed for management of many subsidiaries and of a regional pool in Francophone Africa.

The managers include Ché Martin from the Northwestern region. He was the managing director of UBA Congo and has been the Head of Corporate Banking at UBA Cameroon. Now, he is the regional managing director of UBA within CEMAC, a sort of top managing director who supervises the management of the group’s subsidiaries in Gabon, Cameroon, Chad and Congo Brazzaville.

Vincent Ngimbock is the new managing director of UBA Congo while Asu Ellis, Marcel Bitang, and Dominique Mahend are the managing directors of UBA’s subsidiaries Benin, DR Congo and Cameroon.

For the record, during Q1 2017, UBA Cameroon was the most profitable of the group’s 10 subsidiaries in Francophone Africa. It is now managed by two Cameroonians as the deputy managing director is now Marguerite Fonkwen Atanga.
