(Business in Cameroon) - The Director of Procurement of the United Nations Organization (UN), Dimitri Dovgopoly, recently met in Douala, the Cameroonian economic capital, local economic operators, to encourage them to submit proposals to the calls for tenders launched by the United Nations.

To achieve this, Dimitri Dovgopoly first explained to the businesspeople he met the different procedures in force in the United Nations system, including the very first one which consists in registering as a potential service provider via the UN internet website. Then, one has to be recognised by the State as an economic operator and be up-to-date with the tax administration. 

The potential service provider will then receive calls for tenders launched by the UN, to which they can submit a proposal and expand their business. Because, as highlighted by the UN Procurement Director, United Nations contracts are an excellent opportunity for Cameroonian economic operators, due to existence of UN missions in countries such as CAR, whose proximity with Cameroon is an advantage for potential service providers.
