(Business in Cameroon) - In a statement issued October 10, the virtual mobile operator and former internet service provider YooMee announced the departure of MD Emmanuel Forson (photo) after 4 years of service.

“The company founded in 2011 is facing big issues in establishing itself in a hard-fought market,” the statement said giving a clue on the MD’s departure.

Sources said, in the face of issues, the company is finalizing a staff reduction plan as to cushion the difficulties. In the coming days, YooMee which has also launched a branch in Côte d'Ivoire, should therefore cut part of the 115 direct jobs in Cameroon, with employees already accumulating three months' back pay.

Let’s note that the company was acquired in 2016 by Cameroonian nationals from the Swiss company YooMee Africa AG.
