(Business in Cameroon) - During 2017, Dangote Cement Cameroon realized a positive net result of NGN1.935 billion (a little more than CFA3 billion if CFA1=NGN0.6060). This result is relatively better than the NGN2.492 billion net loss the group recorded in 2016 (CFA5 billion if CFA1=NGN0.4929).

According to the group’s 2017 annual report, this improvement is the result of an increase in the volume of cement it sold during the period under review.

Let’s note that Dangote Cement Cameroon, built in Douala by the Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, quickly became the leader of Cameroon’s cement market, thus outrunning Lafarge-Holcim, which has been the leader of this market for about half a century.
