(Business in Cameroon) - Pim Van Ballekom, Vice-President of the European Bank of Investment (BEI), will arrive in Cameroon this 20 October 2016. He will stay until 21 October 2016, the Cameroonian Ministry of Economy announced in an official communiqué.

This visit in line with the movement to strengthen cooperation relations between Cameroon and BEI, we learned, will be centred around the “inauguration of BEI’s headquarters” in Yaoundé, “a bilateral dialogue between BEI and the ministries under the auspices of the Minister of Economy” and the “visit of selected project sites carried out with the support of this European financial institution”.

As a reminder, in Cameroon, BEI claims an investment portfolio of FCfa 113 billion only since 2006, against FCfa 1,000 billion for AFD for example, over the same period.

This European financial institution is however planning to invest €10 billion (approximately FCfa 6,550 billion) on the African continent in the coming years.
