(Business in Cameroon) - On July 13, 2018, the 22nd edition of “Ecrans Noirs”, the great celebration of African cinema, was launched in Yaoundé, Cameroon’s capital, with the support of the French group Canal+ which has been the event’s sponsor for a decade.
“Ecrans Noirs has become the real marketplace for the Francophone African cinema. It is the opportunity for actors of the audiovisual sector in the West and Central African regions to meet and consider collaborations. Our aim is to build bridges and invest in the development as well as the Pan-African and international outreach of African productions”, explained David Mignot (photo), the managing director of Canal+ Afrique.
At the end of this event on July 20, 2018, Canal+ will award the laureate in competition by giving them awards that range from CFA250,000 to CFA1 million in 4 categories namely, the award for best series (CFA1,000,000), the Cameroonian screen award (CFA500,000), and the best Cameroonian comedy actor and actress (CFA250,000 each).
