(Business in Cameroon) - This year, Cameroon’s gastronomy was represented at “Fête des Vignerons,” a traditional festival that takes place every 20 years in Vevey, Switzerland. This was revealed by a newsletter of the Swiss embassy in Cameroon.

It was organized from July 18 to August 11 and Cameroonian gastronomy was represented! The Gakomo concept of Josi Kaeser (photo), Cameroonian-born Swiss, and her husband Laurent was selected to represent the African continent and its flavour in the framework of ‘Terrasses du Monde.’ Many specialties such as braised carp and chicken, plantain, filled bread as well as the renowned Penja pepper sauce were on the menu of the Gakomo stand,” the embassy wrote.

A spice much appreciated by culinary professionals around the world, Penja pepper is one of the first African condiments to receive the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) label from the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI).
