(Business in Cameroon) - The Cameroonian minister of jobs and vocational training, Issa Tchiroma Bakari (photo), announced March 8 the French government is providing Cameroon with XAF16 billion to fund the construction of two vocational schools in the Coastal region ; one in Edéa and the second in Douala.

Monies are granted under the Debt Reduction and Development Contracts, signed with France, which Cameroon benefited from when it reached the completion point of the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) Initiative in 2006.

According to Minister Tchiroma, the soon to be built centers will train young Cameroonians in areas related to industrial maintenance, transport and logistics, pastry, agro-industry, butchery, etc.
