SCDP to raise its gasoline storage capacity by 20,000 m3

(Business in Cameroon) - Cameroonian oil products’ keeper Société Camerounaise des dépôts pétroliers (SCDP) just launched an international call for expression of interest to prequalify companies for the construction of two 10,000 m3 gasoline storage tanks in its Yaoundé and Bafoussam stores.

The construction project, SCDP informs, falls within the framework of its programme initiated to increase its storage capacities in order to meet the ever-increasing demand for oil products in Cameroon.

Due to poor storage capabilities, Cameroon’s supply of oil products has always been difficult, compelling the government and some marketers, Tradex notably, to charter FPSOs for their supplies.

To reverse that trend, the SCDP launched, some years ago, the construction of new storage tanks for its stores around the country.
