(Business in Cameroon) - Since 2015 when Lom Pangar dam was filled, Songloulou and Edéa power plants have had a guaranteed hydraulic power of 170 MW every year. This was revealed by Théodore Nsangou, managing director of Electricity Development Corporation (EDC), on June 6, 2019, during a visit of the steering committee for the construction of a power plant at the toe of Lom Pangar dam.

According to the executive, thanks to this guaranteed power, Eneo can save substantial fuel costs since Lom Pangar helps regulate the water flow upstream of the Sanaga river. Eneo can thus use thermal power plants as it usually does during low-flow periods.
