(Business in Cameroon) - A general assembly of the Douala Stock Exchange should be held today July 1, 2019. And according to credible sources, a general assembly of the Central African region’s stock exchange (Bvmac) should be held in Gabon. During the two meetings, both markets’ merger treaty should be approved as desired by CEMAC authorities.

A general assembly of the merged exchange, which will be based in Douala, Cameroon, will follow on July 4, 2019, to adopt the exchange’s charter before its entry into service planned for July 5, 2019.

This merged financial market’s central custodian will be Beac, the six CEMAC countries’ central bank. The regulator born from the merger of Commission des marchés financiers du Cameroun (CMF) and Commission de surveillance du marché financier de l’Afrique centrale (Cosumaf) has already taken its quarters in Libreville, Gabon.
