(Business in Cameroon) - Wood exporters operating in Cameroon shipped a total of 40,200 m3 of sawn wood to Italy, over the first eight months this year, the latest International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) report revealed. This figure is 30% higher than the volume exported the same period last year.

The good performance maintains Cameroon as the key wood supplier to Italy, ahead of Gabon which saw its sawn wood export to the European country soar by 84% to 19,700 m3 during the period reviewed. Ivorian exports fell 15% to 7,400 m3, while the Malaysian ones dropped 23% to 3,200 m3, the international organization indicates.
