(Business in Cameroon) - Cameroon’s national oil company SNH announced it won the Best African national oil company award for 2018, last November 22 in London, UK, at a “Big five board award” (BFBA) ceremony hosted by the African Petroleum Club of the Frontier Communication (FC) group.  

The latter organizes international flagship events that showcase oil and gas sector in America, Europe, Asia, Saudi Arabia, the Maghreb and sub-Saharan Africa.

This new award comes after the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative's Board (EITI) hailed the SNH’s effort towards better transparency and accountability in the extractive sector, last June 29. Efforts focused on “the increased regularity of publications issued by the national oil company, the National Hydrocarbon Company, particularly on oil sales”.

The SNH is now one of the over 100 BFBA recipients since the prize was incepted in 1997.
