(Business in Cameroon) - Between January and April this year, Cameroon produced a total of 26,414.04 million cubic feet (747.96 million m3) of natural gas, up 219.78% compared to the same period last year.
The good performance, the national hydrocarbons corporation (SNH) explains, is driven by the launch in May 2018 of liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports through the Floating Liquefied Natural Gas-FLNG plant in commercial operation at Bipaga, off Kribi, in southern Cameroon.
SNH claims it delivered 3,816.06 million cubic feet of natural gas (108.06 million m3) to the Kribi thermal power plant; an average capacity used of 149 MW, or 68.98% of the plant’s installed capacity (216 MW). “With regard to LNG, six cargoes were exported between 1 January and 30 April, representing a volume of 864,241 m3, or 388,054 tons,” informs the SNH.
