"(Business in Cameroon) - How to manage the digital economy? How to make a success of it in Cameroon?" This is the theme around which the Forum on the Digital Economy in Cameroon, taking place from 15 to 17 May in the city of Yaoundé, the Cameroonian capital, will be organised, we learn from reliable sources.

Veritable "platform of the commitment of the public authorities and showcase of the actors to stimulate investment in this sector", this forum is organised in partnership with the Ministry of Post and Telecoms. According to the organisers, this meeting will see the participation of key figures in the digital world like Jacques Bonjawo, formerly of Microsoft, Ernest Simo, NASA expert, Arthur Zang, inventor of the first African medical tablet, etc.

Also planned are presentations of experts from countries such as Tunisia, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Canada, as well as directors of the main telecommunications companies in activity in Cameroon, like MTN, Orange or even Camtel.

According to its organisers, this forum on the digital economy proposes to "offer a true window of the advantages of the digital economy in Cameroon; outline actions taken and to be undertaken by the government in developing the digital economy from three points of view of facilitation, regulation and support; disclose the pertinent and significant themes as well priority actions of the government's Strategic Plan; promote the different actors who contribute to development of the digital economy; interest financing organisations in investing in the digital economy sector in Cameroon; and bring together operators and project developers in Cameroon and investors".
