(Business in Cameroon) - Chinese-made MA60 aircrafts were announced in Cameroon since September 2012 but according to the Minister of Transport, Robert Nkili, procedures for their arrival and eventual integration into the fleet of the national carrier, Camair-Co are underway.

Many countries in Africa and Asia are already using these aircraft. Since its first release in 2000, MA60 aircrafts have been delivered to fourteen countries in Asia, Africa and South America and are serving over a hundred airlines, according to AVIC Xi'an Aircraft Industry (Group) Co., the manufacturer of the aircraft.

For now, the Chinese aircraft used by the Cameroon’s defence forces is doing well.

But in the world serious concerns has emerged regarding the safety and airworthiness of the Chinese-made aircraft, given that several crashes recorded in the last decade, were blamed on system failure.

For the record, the three MA60s expected in Cameroon will serve domestic routes.
