(Business in Cameroon) - On April 4, 2018, Cameroon’s former energy minister Basile Atangana Kouna was presented to Yaoundé tribunal of first instance.

According to Mutations that revealed  the information, he is accused of clandestine emigration. Indeed, after his dismissal from the government on Mach 2, 2018, Basile Atangana Kouna was required not to leave Cameroon but he fled to Nigeria where he was arrested and brought back to Cameroon on March 22, 2018; to be incarcerated at Kondengui main prison.

Let’s remind that before his flight to Nigeria, he was summoned by the special criminal court TCS, established to judge corrupted officials. According to our sources, this summoning is related to his management of CAMWATER (audited by the government months earlier).
