(Business in Cameroon) - Members of the international secretary of the Initiative of Transparency in the Mining Industries are in Cameroon since October 3, 2017. Till next October 6, they will review progress made by Cameroon since it joined the circle of nations conforming to the standards imposed by this initiative in 2013.

The test of compliance is an important element of the initiative in a country. It is conceived to provide an unbiased assessment of the member countries activities’ compliance to the norms set by the initiative”, Alamine Ousmane Mey, chairman of the national committee in charge of the Initiative implementation’s monitoring, said.

Let’s remind that Cameroon joined the Initiative of Transparency in the Mining Industries in 2005 and, it has been certified in compliance with its norms on October, 17, 2013.

The Initiative of Transparency in the Mining Industries was born out the will to improve access to information on mineral resources’ exploitation. This, to let all the countries which joined the initiative to benefit from it.
