(Business in Cameroon) - During the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations which Cameroon will host during the November-December 2016 period, security measures will be strengthened in hotels in Cameroon, to enable this continental celebration of women football to take place in serenity, the State Minister in charge of Tourism, Maïgari Bello Bouba, announced.
To achieve this, according to this Cameroonian government member, a memorandum on security measures applicable in hotels has been developed and adopted, with the support of the public administrations in charge of security in the country. “One of the recommendations made by the head of government, President of the National Tourism Council, is that this memorandum be immediately put into application and mandatory”, Maïgari Bello Bouba specified.
As a reminder, the continental competition which Cameroonian will host from this coming November will take place in the cities of Limbe (South-West) and Yaoundé (Central), two towns far removed from the Extreme-North region, where the attacks carried by the Nigerian Islamist sect Boko Haram are focused.
But, Minister Bello Bouba stresses, since “the (terrorist, Ed.) threat has become a worldwide affair, as even the big countries are suffering from it”, Cameroon obviously wants to be ready for all possibilities. So that all “our guests be assured that they will enjoy a peaceful time” throughout the competition, the Head of the Ministry in charge of Tourism in Cameroon declared.
