(Business in Cameroon) - The national women's football team of Cameroon, Silver medallist at end of the 10th edition of the 2016 AfCON organised in Yaoundé and Limbé, from 19 November to 3 December 2016, was received on 8 December at the Palais de l’Unité by the Cameroonian presidential couple.

During this reception, the Cameroonian Head of State, hailed the performances of the Indomitable Lionesses, despite their defeat in the final against Nigeria. “You did not win the final. But you managed to win our hearts and arouse admiration. You won with panache, beautiful and important victories against expert teams. Through your talent, your courage, your commitment, and your ardour in defending the colours of your country, you have filled the entire Nation with enthusiasm”, declared President Biya.

And he added: “you never gave up. You fought till the very end, for your flag, for your country. Cameroon thanks you. Cameroon congratulates you. You are Lionesses. You are indeed true Indomitable Lionesses”.

Even though they lost to the Super Falcons of Nigeria, with a single killer goal from Oparanozié six minutes to the end of the regulation game time, the national women's football team of Cameroon won the trophies for Fair Play, best player in the tournament (Gabrielle Aboudi Onguéné) and had four players in the reference team for this competion.
